Information
Working across screen print, risograph, photography, typography and collage, Patterson’s approach is process-led, embracing imperfection, layering and material experimentation. Using found and reappropriated imagery, his work builds through successive layers of ink, texture and mark-making to produce unique, hand-finished prints that sit between screen print and monoprint.
Drawing on cinema, photography and popular culture, his recent work centres on You Never Saw—a series of fictional film posters constructed from cultural memory. Familiar visual tropes are reassembled into images that feel recognisable yet have no original source, exploring ideas of simulation, nostalgia and incomplete narrative.
